Depression and Stress

| Prayer Request: | The day before my grad party, my mother told me I was a disappointment. She's often transparent to how her actions affect others, especially when it comes to her kids. I don't like to admit this, but she's not a rational person either. She doesn't listen to anything I say and won't listen to reason either. No matter what I do, even if I achieve great things, she looks at me the same. My mother looks down at me. Well, at least that's how she treats her kids. Also, my summer has transitioned to a steady joyful state to an unfortunately steady state of depression due to stress from my mom and one of my best friends. Our friendship is healing, but nothing will be the same. This is different though. Perhaps this is the way things are meant to be. My relationship with my mother, however, isn't right. Strangely, even though I'm depressed, I know that life is well. I have food, water, housing, great athletic ability, got into a great school, been to summer camps, etc. But love seems to be one of those things that can make everything else not matter. A general prayer for wellness would be nice. |
